Crooked fingerboard on cello

March 25, 2010

Q: To Whom It May Concern: I have just recently purchased a cello from you. The fingerboard seems to be crooked. Although everything else is fine, this seems to be a problem. Also the bridge looks unaligned. This might be because of the shipping.

A: It sounds like the bridge did move during shipping. This would also cause the neck to appear out of alignment. If there is no damage to the cello, this can be easily corrected.  Please give us a call, and we will verify if this is simply a case of the bridge shifting to the side, and if so we will walk you through getting it back to where it should be over the phone. If there is any damage to the instrument, we will replace the cello with no cost to you.
