Your site is showing the Morgan Monroe mandolins as being made in China although other sites list the same instruments, same models and prices as being from Korea. I even found a picture of the MMs7 with a Made in Korea sticker. I am interested in ordering one of these from you, but I do not want a Mandolin built in China. Can you please help me to understand where they are actually manufactured? Thanks, Billy
Hello Billy,
Morgan Monroe Mandolins were originally made in Korea but production of the entire line was moved to China. Anything labeled " Made in Korea " would be an older model. I have noticed that many websites did not update the descriptions or images after these changes after production moved. If shopping online, I would give the dealer a call to verify that the mandolin that you are purchasing is actually Korean. In 2008, Morgan Monroe did re-introduce new models that are Made in Korea. These were the MMR-1 and MMR2 mandolins. There are now discontinued. All others are currently made in China. As for the Chinese made Morgan Monroe's. When they first moved to China, the quality took a hit. The mandolins have steadily improved since then and the latest Chinese mandolins have been the best yet.
