The Morgan Monroe Mandolin Company is based in Indianapolis Indiana and named after the State Forest nearby. The brand is owned by SHS International, which is a distributer for several other brands as well.
In business since 2001, there have been numerous A and F model mandolins made over the years. Their latest offerings include the MF-550F model which is an all solid carved F-style mandolin. Their instruments have been popular among players and consistently among the best selling brands. This is partly due to the many options they have introduced. This includes unique finishes and wood choices along with wide neck and left handed versions that have not been available elsewhere. Many of their mandolin instruments used the Ashton Bailey cast tailpiece.
Morgan Monroe mandolins are covered by a Lifetime Warranty. This covers defects in the materials and workmanship to the original owner.
One interesting thing about the company is how fast they change their models. It seems like the entire line changes every few years. They even discontinue or change the most popular models. This has led to some confusion regarding what the current models are.
We have left up pages for many of the past models with descriptions and images. If you happen to be looking for information on any of these, hopefully they will help with your research. You can see many of the discontinued models here: Discontinued Morgan Monroe Mandolins
