The Rover Mandolin Company is owned by Saga Musical Instruments. Their entire line consists of one F-model and 5 A-model mandolins.
The top model is the RM-75. This is their F-model and is hand-carved from all solid woods. This has been a log time favorite among players looking for an affordable F-stlye mandolin.
Next up is the A-models, from highest to lowest.
The RM-50 is another instrument on the most recommended list. This is among the least expensive all solid, hand-carved mandolins available. Read through forums, and you will see this instrument come up often as a top choice for beginners. There is also an RM-50B which is simply a version with a black finish, Aside from this, they are identical.
The RM-35S is basically the same as the RM-50, with the exception of the back and sides. Where the RM-50 is made from all solid woods, the RM-35S use laminated back and sides. The top is still solid spruce. The tone isn't that far off from the RM-50 and it still presents a great value while keeping costs down.
The RM-25s looks very similar to the higher models but is based on a different construction plan. Most of the specs are the same as the RM-35S, even though it really isn't the same mandolin. The 25 series does not have an adjustable truss rod (all of the higher models do). This also uses a different type of tuning machines and the neck is a 12th fret neck joint, where the 35 and 50 have a 13th fret joint. All are dovetail.
The last in the lineup is the RM-25. This uses laminated woods for the top back and sides. The top is maple as well. All other specs are the same as the RM-25S. Of note, the 25 and 25S are the only models that have a pick guard. These also have binding on the headstock that the higher models do not.
The Rover Mandolin Company covers their instruments with a one year limited warranty. This covers defects in the workmanship and materials. Normal wear items are not covered, nor is damage due to abuse which includes climate related issues. The warranty is to the original purchaser.
I would like to know where are your instruments built?
